Questions distributors ask about this line
What is the difference between a thermal cycler and a real-time PCR machine?
A thermal cycler (FC-96B, FC-96BE or FC-96GE, all 96-well) amplifies the DNA and you read the answer afterwards on a gel. A real-time PCR machine — also called a qPCR machine, or a fluorescence PCR analyzer in the United States — reads the fluorescence while it amplifies, so the result comes off the run itself. We quote both: 16, 48 and 96-well real-time analysers with 5-colour optics, plus the compact Micgene 242.
Is there a portable PCR machine for farm or field use?
Yes. The Micgene 242 weighs 4 kg or less, measures 240 x 230 x 260 mm, connects by USB or Wi-Fi and gives a result in 50 minutes per sample. Where no PCR room is wanted at all, the 240-gram MiniDock runs sealed isothermal cards instead and needs no thermal cycling.
How is a PCR machine priced, and what does a quotation include?
Price depends on well count, fluorescence channels, throughput and order quantity, so the line is quoted rather than listed. Send the number of samples per day and the assays you plan to run; you get specifications, certificates, minimum order quantity, lead time and wholesale terms, usually within two working days.
Which machine runs a blood test in a veterinary clinic?
The veterinary immunofluorescence quantitative analyser (VET-YC01 / YC02). It returns a number rather than a line, in 3 to 15 minutes, from serum, plasma or whole blood, and 42 of our 56 quantitative assays are blood-based: CRP, SAA, cardiac troponin I, SDMA, T4, TSH, cortisol, D-dimer, progesterone and relaxin among them. Haematology and blood-chemistry analysers are not in this catalogue, so if you need a cell counter say so and we will tell you straight away.
Is there a machine for animal pregnancy and breeding tests?
The same analyser. The canine relaxin quantitative test confirms pregnancy, and the canine and equine progesterone tests time ovulation and breeding — both read quantitatively on the immunofluorescence analyser in 3 to 15 minutes, so a breeding client gets a number during the visit instead of waiting for a send-out. The analyser and the test cassettes are quoted together, with the lot ID card that loads the calibration curve.
Are the analysers sold separately from the reagents?
They are quoted together. A distributor usually places the analysers with clinics and then supplies the consumables, so the quotation covers both.
What does a clinic need to run the isothermal line?
One dock, the test cards, and a swab. The dock weighs about 240 grams, reads up to six pathogens per card and connects to the clinic system.
Is training provided?
Yes. Set-up and operating guidance is supplied with the first order, and the evidence page lists the validation documents your clinical team will ask for.
